Shellye Archambeau is CEO of MetricStream, responsible for all facets of the business. She has a proven executive management track record and more than 20 years experience driving sales in the technology industry. Prior to MetricStream, Shellye held executive positions at Loudcloud, Inc. and NorthPoint Communications, where she was president of Blockbuster, Inc.’s e-commerce division. Shellye was recognized by Internet World as one of the Top 25 ‘Click and Mortar’ executives in the country. She serves on the board of directors of Arbitron, Inc. and the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives.
Eduardo Braun is director of HSM Group, a global leader in executive education. He is also director of Sotheby’s Realty in Costa Rica. Prior to his current roles, Eduardo was planning manager at OMINT, director of marketing at ETERNIT, a senior associate of Booz Allen and Hamilton in France and a professor of marketing at UC Berkeley.
John Butler is CEO of Topline Advisors and a Silicon Valley turnaround and start-up specialist. He is a former high-tech executive working in marketing for Apple and sales at IBM. He organized and conducted a student business plan competition at Menlo College.
Howard Charney is senior vice president at Cisco and a member of the executive staff, reporting directly to CEO, John Chambers. Howard is an engineer, entrepreneur, patent attorney and 35-year veteran of Silicon Valley’s high-tech industry. He was one of four founders of 3Com and founder of Grand Junction Networks, which invented fast Ethernet and low-cost switching. The company was acquired by Cisco. Howard holds degrees in engineering from MIT and both an MBA and law degree from Santa Clara University.
Margee Ensign is Dean of the School of International Studies (SIS) and associate provost for International Initiatives at the University of the Pacific. She came to UOP from Washington D.C. where she helped established a graduate program for Tulane University, focused on the study of international development. She began her career at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. For the past decade she has worked on development projects in Central, East and West Africa, including a PEPFAR project in Rwanda. She is completing a book with Dr. William Bertrand about progress in Rwanda since the 1994 genocide. The book will be the basis for a PBS film.
Jim Fruchterman is founder and CEO of Benetech. A technology entrepreneur, Jim is a former rocket scientist who believes that technology is the ultimate leveler, allowing disadvantaged people to achieve more equality in society. He first founded Calera Recognition Systems in 1982, which developed character recognition technology that allowed computers to read virtually all printed text. In 1989, Jim founded Arkenstone, a non-profit social enterprise, to produce reading machines for the disabled based on the Calera technology. Following the sale of Arkenstone in 2000, Jim used capital from the sale to fund Benetech. The goal of the company is using the power of technology to serve humanity. Jim has been named a MacArthur Fellow and an Outstanding Social Entrepreneur by the Schwab Foundation. Additionally, Benetech received the Skoll Award for social entrepreneurship under Jim’s leadership.
Bill Goodrich is a former middle school principal at the award-winning Windmill Springs School. Bill currently works on teacher certification projects for the Dean of Education at San Jose State University.
Marc Lefkowitz is the CEO and founder of Vyoo, a trust-based recommendation and people-matching engine for web applications. Prior to starting his own company, Marc interned at Google and worked for Gap, Inc.
Geetha Murali, Ph.D. is the senior product marketing manager of Koollage.com. She earned her doctorate at UC Berkeley and has traveled extensively in India as a program manager for the American India Foundation. Geetha was previously a biostatistician for Chiron Pharmaceuticals.
Charlie Northend is president of DMNA, an advertising agency that has worked with clients from Apple to Sun, Brooks Running Shoes to Comcast. He took on his first job in advertising over 30 years ago at age 11, delivering the local PennySaver; however the delivery boy set his sights on greater things. Under Charlie’s direction, DMNA has grown into one of the largest agencies in Silicon Valley. He has been recruited to judge the National Student Advertising Competition and has served two years as president of AAF Silicon Valley.
Ken Philipp has been vice president of sales at three Silicon Valley startups, the last of which was acquired by VMware where Ken works today. Ken is an engineer with an MBA from Santa Clara University. During his MBA program, Ken and his team competed against other classmates in developing their own business from start to finish and presenting their business plan to a board of venture capitalists. Ken’s team won the overall competition and had follow up discussions on the potential launch of the venture.
Bill Reichert is managing director at Garage Technology Venture. He has more than 20 years experience as an entrepreneur and an operating executive. He sits on the boards of CaseStack, WhiteHat, ClearFuels, cFares and ThermoCeramix. Prior to Garage, Bill has been a co-founder or senior executive in several venture-backed technology startups, including Trademark Software, The Learning Company and Academic Systems. Earlier in his career, he worked at McKinsey & Company, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. and the World Bank.
Jodell Seagrave is a consultant for media and interactive companies. Prior to consulting, she was managing director of Charles Schwab Learning, where she was responsible for leading a team to develop Schwab Learning Program content. She increased Schwab Learning Program’s reach among children and families and built effective distribution channels. Jodell spent 12 years in executive management positions in early-stage media and interactive companies serving the young adult, teen and children’s marketplace. She also has more than 13 years in executive management positions in broadcast radio and television. Jodell was nominated for recognition in the American Marketing Association/ Media Inc. Hall of Fame in 1995.
Erich Ziegler is director of marketing for Paycycle, America’s number one online payroll provider. He has an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He worked for six years in international marketing with Ogilvy & Mather, Shell Oil and Hugo Boss and for seven years with Netflix as director of marketing.
