Bryan Cockel, Lead Curriculum Director, joined Camp BiZSmart in 2009. Bryan has a degree in economics from UC Santa Barbara. He acquired Santa Cruz software company, ASAP Systems in the early 1990’s, built the customer base dramatically & sold the company in 2003. Since then, Bryan and his wife Jane, a high school science teacher, have traveled around the world studying the environment, natural history, & tropical ecosystems. He has a passion for teaching others the entrepreneurial skills he has acquired along the way.

Abhinav Dev, Director of Logistics, joined Camp BizSmart in 2008 and is now a sophmore economics major at UC Santa Barbara and graduate of Saratoga High School where he won the President’s Education Award. He has interned at Vhayu Technologies and worked as a children’s tennis coach.

Dr. Ellen Pieterse, Lead Curriculum Director, joined Camp BizSmart in 2009. Ellen has an Ed.D from the University of San Francisco, and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University. Most recently she was the Director of Global Learning and Leadership Development for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. Prior to Hitachi, Ellen spent more than 20 years at IBM in positions of increasing responsibility in human resources and talent assessment, including four years as a human resources team leader for IBM in Shenzhen, China.

Elaine Wu, Lead Facilitator, joined Camp Biz Smart in 2008. Elaine is a 2008 graduate of Stanford University in International Relations and has studied overseas at Oxford and Peking University. At Stanford, she worked as a resident assistant, peer mentor and summit co-director of the Asia-Pacific Student Entrepreneurship Society. Elaine accepted a teaching assignment in London. She has also worked as a math tutor and an ESL instructor in China.
