In the US about 30 million children and teens participate in some form of organized sports, and there are3.5 million injuries each year, which cause student athletes to lose playing time.Almost one-third of all injuries in childhood are sports-related injuries.Yet, over 50% of all sports injuries in youth are preventable. Overuse or misuse injuries of a body part are responsible for nearly half of all sports injuries to middle and high school students.
Your challenge is to use ZEPP Labs motion sensor technology, including: accelerometers, gyros, pressure sensors, GPS, heart rate, etc. to develop a wearable device monitored by a smartphone / tablet app to help prevent injury and keep athletes in the sports/games they love. Choose a sport and identify a common injury that is causing athletes a significant loss in participation time. Using ZEPP Labs technology design a wearable device to lower teen injuries in that sport. The design of the device should:
Focus on extremity injuries and product solutions for arms, legs, knees and shoulders (i.e. not head injuries)
